JurisQuizzence 2010 Invitation

SBRR Mahajana Law College is proud to announce about JurisQuizzence 2010, the Karnataka State Level Law Quiz Competition. The event will be held on 24th April 2010. Last date for confirming the participation by the teams is 22nd April 2010, 5pm. Please confirm via email – sangeetha.law@gmail.com or phone – 9845346076. The formalities of sending DD and application forms has been done away with. Please refer to the rules below.
PLEASE GET YOUR IDENTITY CARDS AND PRODUCE THE SAME AT THE REGISTRATION COUNTER.
RULES
Date and Venue:
The event will be held on 24th April 2010 at Vivekananda Hall, SBRR Mahajana PU College Premises, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysore.
Language:
The event will be held only in English.
Eligibility:
All the law students of Karnataka pursuing their bachelor’s degree in Law (both 3 years and 5 years course students) are allowed to take part in this event.
Team Composition:
Each team will comprise of 2 students. Both the students should be from the same college. Any number of teams can participate from each law college for the preliminary stage. However, the best two teams from the same college will qualify for the final stage.
Registration:
The formalities of sending DD and application forms has been done away with. The teams may simply confirm their participation by sending the details of participants name and college / institution name to sangeetha.law@gmail.com or via phone to 9845346076 .
Stages:
There will be a written preliminary stage of the quiz. Based on their performance, top 6 teams will qualify to the Final Stage.
Rules:
1. There is no scope for misbehavior and malpractice.
2. Use of cell phones / pagers or any other electronic gadgets at the venue are prohibited.
3. Decision of the organisers is final.
4. There are special rules for each round / stage. Those rules will be announced during the event.
Ambit of the quiz:
Constitutional law of India, Law of Crimes, Law of torts, Law of Contract, International law, Jurisprudence, Intellectual Property Rights, and Contemporary legal issues.
Awards:
1. The winning team in the final stage will get a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-
2. The runners up team in the final stage will get a cash prize of Rs. 3,000/-
3. The team which stands third in the final stage will get a cash prize of Rs. 2,000/-
4. All the other 3 teams which qualify for the finals will get a cash prize of Rs. 500/- each.
5. All the participants will get a certificate of participation.

Schedule:
The event will commence at 9:00 AM. Registration will be open from 9 AM upto 10 AM. Preliminary stage will commence at 10:15 AM. The whole event will conclude by 4:30 PM.
Food and Accommodation:
No food, transportation or accommodation shall be provided. But, the organisers will provide lunch and beverages at the venue on the day of the event. In addition, a travel and accommodation guide will be provided on our website www.sbrrmlc.in which can be utilised by the teams.
